Make your bed
Making your bed right when you wake up is a great way to start your day. It primes you for a productive day, tidies your space and has several documented mental health benefits. One of the reasons I personally like to make my bed each morning is that I find it to be a nice start and end to my day- making my bed when I wake in the morning, and then crawling in and getting cozy to go to bed each night.
Let the Light In
Open up your blinds and draw back your curtains. Let the morning light of the sun rising shine into your space. If weather permits it, go outside or open a window for some fresh air to feel exhilarated and energized. This is also a good time to step away from screens for a period of the morning. Spend some time on your balcony or in your yard without any technology, and take in the new day as it is. You might want to practice some affirmations or engage in some mindfulness practices at this time as well.
Oral Hygiene
Oral hygiene is so, so vital to many aspects of your health! Make sure every day you’re brushing and flossing twice a day. It’s also refreshing and starts the day feeling clean with a bright smile. You don’t need to stick to the classic mint either- there are so many fun flavors of toothpaste you can try if you’re looking to mix it up! Skincare
Taking care of your skin is essential to starting your day off right. Use a face wash and moisturizer, they don’t need to be anything fancy or expensive either. I personally like to use the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and Ponds dry skin cream. These are both affordable products that can be found at most any drugstore and are effective in keeping my skin looking good without breaking the bank. Also, be sure to apply sunscreen! There are so many benefits to daily sunscreen it’s a no-brainer to incorporate in your morning routine. Take a moment or a few minutes to recite some affirmations to yourself. This is such a powerful way to start your morning and prime your day for positivity.
